Massage Therapy
How Does Massage Therapy Benefit You?
Massage therapy is a healthy, non-invasive way to positively impact your health and well-being. When your body experiences stress it produces higher levels of the stress hormone, “cortisol,” attributed to difficulty sleeping, digestive issues, headaches, mental health issues, and chronic pain. Massage therapy reduces cortisol levels allowing your body to rest and recover, as well as induces lasting physical, mental, and emotional effects.
Regular massage treatment has been found to naturally treat pain, reduce both systolic and diastolic blood pressure, elevate mood levels, improve digestion, and strengthen the body’s immune defenses. Especially in conjunction with chiropractic, massage therapy improves flexibility and posture and promotes muscle healing through increased circulation of oxygen and nutrients to injured tissue.
Bixby Knolls Wellness Center’s Licensed Massage Therapists are here to help facilitate your wellness journey by providing treatment for acute and/or chronic issues, or simply helping you maintain your health and fitness goals. Each Therapist is trained in a broad range of massage techniques including deep tissue, craniosacral, trigger point, lymphatic drainage, sports massage, perinatal, relaxation, and energy work.
